On October 28, the Miss France company’s Instagram account kicked off its countdown. “J-10” is displayed, with no extra details provided. Yet, there’s little doubt: in ten days, the thirty beauty queens who dream of being crowned Miss France 2026 will head to Martinique. That is where this year’s traditional “preparation trip” will take place—a dreamlike voyage that helps them bond and also get ready for the big day.
This year, the election will take place on December 6 at the Zenith in Amiens (Somme). A show that promises to be spectacular and which, unsurprisingly, will be hosted by the evergreen Jean-Pierre Foucault. For the occasion, the 77-year-old host who has long dreamed of seeing Miss Provence crowned will be joined by Miss France 2025. The end of the fairy tale approaches for Angélique Angarni-Filopon. She will hand the crown and sash to the young woman who will succeed her.
In the meantime, the 35-year-old flight attendant will accompany the contestants to Martinique, on her island—the place where it all began for her. All will depart from Paris, where they will be photographed together. However, it remains to be seen whether they will all reach the capital. Miss Tahiti, for example, will fly to Los Angeles on October 29 before returning to France. The Tahitian, who, unfortunately, was the victim of a minor accident.
Miss France 2026: Is Miss Tahiti at a disadvantage?
Indeed, before they all gather as a group, each committee has already begun prepping its Miss. Hinaupoko Deveze has been piling up workout sessions since her election on June 28, the 23-year-old athlete, but she has been abruptly slowed in her preparation. During her official trip to the Marquesas in early October, this standout went and tore off a toenail. Beyond the pain, it’s “slowing me down in my catwalk and athletic schedule, because I have to let my foot heal,” she told our colleagues at La 1ère.
Nevertheless, the overseas beauty insists that this injury does not dampen her determination. “I’m staying determined to give it my all!” She even appeared in a clip for rappers Koba LaD and Naps. So will she become the next Miss France and manage to stand out on December 6? As a reminder, the last Miss Tahiti to be crowned was Vaimalama Chaves in 2019. Before her, Mareva Galanter was Miss France in 1999.
