Great news for Cowboys Fringants fans: a brand-new project has just been unveiled!
The La Tribu team confirmed that, starting on November 14, a film will hit cinemas across the province.
“A unique chance to relive the magical vibe of a show as if you were on stage with us,” the group reveals.
The excitement is truly buzzing
Starring Karl Tremblay and his colleagues Jean-François Pauzé, Marie-Annick Lépine and Jérôme Dupras, this concert-event pays homage to the energy and legacy of the Cowboys Fringants through unseen footage from the Les Antipodes tour, notably captured during the show at the Centre Vidéotron in January 2023.
A trailer for the film is now available, offering a sneak peek at what fans can expect, and tickets are now on pre-sale at select local theaters.
This cinematic project offers an immersion into the heart of the band, blending striking performances, intimate backstage moments, and moving testimonials, while tracing the camaraderie, passion, and collective strength that bind these iconic Quebec musicians.
A true celebration of their journey, the film highlights the power of their songs and the vibrant emotion that links the Cowboys Fringants to their audience.
J-F Pauzé takes the leap!
A big THANK YOU!
While awaiting the film’s release: Jean-François Pauzé, a cornerstone and lyricist of the Cowboys Fringants, embarks on a new chapter by going solo. After more than two decades writing lyrics that have left a mark on Quebecois music, from Les étoiles filantes to L’Amérique pleure, Pauzé now aims to explore a more intimate and personal universe.
His solo project, titled Les amours de seconde main, is shaping up to be a work that is at once poetic and lucid, faithful to his humanitarian and engaged voice, yet colored by a new vulnerability.
“A big THANK YOU to everyone who contributed to this album, directly or indirectly,” J-F says on Instagram.
The Cowboys Fringants have left a profound mark on Quebec culture with their ability to blend music, advocacy, and shared identity. Through their poetic and often striking lyrics, they have given voice to social, environmental, and political concerns across generations.
Their body of work goes beyond mere entertainment: it acts as a mirror of Quebec society, oscillating between hope and disillusion, humor and gravity.
