Léa Seydoux Stuns in a Sheer Gown on the Venice Film Festival Red Carpet

Undoubtedly, this 82nd edition of the Venice Film Festival hasn’t lacked charm. On the red carpet, photographers captured hundreds of actors, actresses, directors, and screenwriters… And many stood out for their elegance. Some even opted for bold outfits like Adèle Exarchopoulos and her XXL backless black dress, or Léa Seydoux and her spellbinding gown.
Indeed, on September 5, the French actress did not shy away from audacity during the competition screening of Ildikó Enyedi’s film Silent Friend. A movie in which she stars and which will hit theaters on April 1, 2026. For this special occasion, the 40-year-old actress chose a black plunging bodysuit that clung perfectly to her curves. A bodysuit by Louis Vuitton covered with a flowing fabric; a sort of cape that revealed her generous décolletage, her arms, and also her entire legs.
As for makeup, nothing extravagant. The Parisian, lightly made up with softly wavy hair, chose sobriety. The same restraint applied to her jewelry. That evening, Léa Seydoux wore only one piece: a diamond bracelet worn on her right wrist. For the rest: no necklace or earrings.

Lea Seydoux: The Actress Targeted by Fatphobia

For many, the star of Blue Is the Warmest Color made a splash in this look that was at once understated, elegant, and sexy, but others didn’t hesitate to attack her. Indeed, on the few posts shared on social media around this notable red carpet appearance, some comments proved to be extremely cruel. Some online users targeted the mother of a family for her weight. “She gained some pounds,” “Unrecognizable,” “Enormous,” “She eats well at the canteen”, “What happened to her? She’s gained so much weight”… it was read.
These fat-phobic remarks were fortunately counterbalanced by a handful of kind comments. Indeed, other internet users did not hesitate to come to the defense of the forty-year-old. “Long live her curves, and well done for this incredibly simple look“, “She is simply stunning” or even “She’s perfect as she is! Stop making discriminatory comments about her body!” were also written.
As a reminder, this year, the Golden Lion went to the film Father Mother Sister Brother by American Jim Jarmusch.
