  • The concept highlights guests with rich and transformative life paths.
  • The first episode features an intimate conversation about death and aging.
  • Jean-Thomas Jobin shares personal memories tied to past fears.
  • The project has been met with enthusiastic reception since its launch.

In the very first episode of his new podcast Encore là, co-hosted with actress Julianne Côté, Jean-Thomas Jobin tackled a topic that was more intimate and delicate.

Alongside their guest, Denise Poulin-Mussely, the hosts opened a sincere discussion about aging and the fear of death, in an exchange that was both human and introspective.

“I’ve always feared death when I was younger. But I think it was mostly because I didn’t want to hurt my parents, because I’ve always told myself that it’s me who would have to grieve my parents,” explains Jean-Thomas.

Certain moments in life have pushed Jean-Thomas Jobin into deep worry.

“It happened twice in my life where I was afraid of dying. Once when I flipped my car and walked away unharmed, and once when I choked on Froot Loops (…) to a dangerous degree (…) Both times, the reflex I had was: I can’t do that to my parents,” the comedian recounts.

He notes, however, that this fear has waned with time, particularly after the deaths of his parents.

“But after my parents’ passing, it was incredibly difficult… I no longer fear dying, but I love life and I feel there’s something vertigo-inducing about time that moves very, very fast,” concludes Jean-Thomas.

A New Project

Announced a few weeks ago, Jean-Thomas Jobin and his close friend Julianne Côté revealed their new project: a podcast that spotlights people whose journeys are marked by powerful and meaningful experiences.

In this new format titled Encore là, the two hosts welcome guests who carry within them rich stories, stamped by lessons learned and lived experiences.

The aim of the project is to create authentic and human exchanges, where dialogue is free and the stories are deeply personal.
One concept that promises to stand out through sincerity, openness, and the depth of the conversations offered.

As the first episode has just been released, early reactions are broadly positive and already hint at strong interest for what comes next, with many calling for new episodes.
