Transavia Makes It Easy to Resell Airline Tickets: No More Wasted Seats

This summer, Transavia is shaking up the French low-cost scene. The airline has rolled out an integrated platform to resell your tickets up to one hour before departure. No more nonrefundable fare buckets that leave you stranded if plans change. Thanks to this service, an unused ticket can find a new buyer.
The mechanism is simple: if someone buys back your ticket, you are reimbursed the full amount of airport taxes and up to 50% of the price paid. A welcome development for spontaneous travelers… And for the airline, which reduces no‑shows and optimizes flight occupancy.
Transavia thus becomes the first French low-cost carrier to offer a structured, integrated resale service. In partnership with the startup Fairlyne, the platform ensures a secure, smooth operation without external commissions.

A smart service for passengers… and Transavia

The winners? Travelers, clearly. You can sell an unused ticket. And unlike a pure cancellation, here you get back part of what you paid. Transavia commits to refunding at least the taxes and up to half of the total price. In terms of timing, you have a broad window: resale is possible up to one hour before departure.
And for the airline? It’s all upside: fewer empty seats, better load factors, improved profitability. The commercial director Nicolas Hénin emphasizes this clearly: it’s both an enhanced customer experience and a streamlining of operations.

Clear rules… for a genuinely secure service

Note that not all airline tickets are eligible. Several conditions apply:

  • no Flex option or Max fare,
  • purchase via your account,
  • payment in euros,
  • not modified,
  • nor registered.

If the resale doesn’t go through, you keep your booking intact. And if it succeeds, the money is transferred within 72 hours, directly to your original payment method. Transparent, fast… and truly in line with today’s expectations.
With this platform, Transavia marks a real turning point in low-cost services. It offers passengers a smart alternative to cancellation. Sell your ticket, recover up to 50%, and have the taxes refunded. And for the airline, it’s also a lever for performance and loyalty.

Of course, you must respect the conditions (no Flex, no changes…). But the flexibility offered is already notable: resale up to one hour before departure, guaranteed refund, and seamless integration through your account.
So this summer, if your plans change, think about reselling: no more unused tickets, a smart move!
