Who will succeed Angélique Angarni-Filopon? Who will be crowned Miss France 2026? To find out, we’ll have to wait a few more weeks. Thirty contestants aged 18 to 30 are in the running to claim the crown and the coveted sash. Thirty finalists who, in just a few days, will fly to Martinique for the traditional preparatory trip. An opportunity for these women to get to know one another and gear up for the big day.
The big day will take place on December 6. It will be on the stage of the Amiens Zenith in Somme that the thirty contestants will deliver an exceptional show. A show that, as every year, will be hosted by the indomitable Jean-Pierre Foucault. Beside him, the 77-year-old presenter will be joined by the current Miss France. The 35-year-old flight attendant will then crown the young woman who is about to embark on an extraordinary year.
But… some are already speaking out against the date chosen to crown Miss France 2026. Why? Because on December 6, another event must be organized and will be broadcast on France 2 at the same time. This event, like the Miss France election, takes place every year, and it is the Téléthon.
Miss France 2026 and the Téléthon in a head-to-head showdown
Karla Miller.fr has pulled the agendas from previous years… An opportunity to note that it has been more than a decade since Miss France and the Téléthon aired at the same time. Indeed, the last time was 2014. That year, the Téléthon weekend took place on December 5–6, 2014, and the Miss France 2015 election, that of Camille Cerf, on December 6, 2014. Since then, the two events have not occurred simultaneously.
As the first weekend of December is traditionally Téléthon time, the event will indeed take place on December 5 and 6, 2025. However, December 6 is the date TF1 has also chosen to crown Miss France 2026. Consequently, some fear that the charitable fundraising could be affected. On the other hand, the Miss France organization and the elected officials of Amiens Métropole defend themselves. They assure there is no reason to spark controversy. If the contest has been moved up, they remind us, it is mainly for scheduling reasons and the availability of the Amiens Zenith.
