Mirianne Brûlé: It’s Really Not Easy

On Instagram, Mirianne Brûlé recently joined her followers for a Q&A, offering the actress a chance to tackle a variety of topics and look back on a career that has just taken a new turn.

When a follower asked whether she still planned to do television, the actress opened up about the hurdles of the industry and about a new path she views as a more stable backup plan.
“Regarding that question that pops up a lot… it would be a very long message to answer… let’s say my studies are to have a plan B, to secure a steady job. It’s been two years since I shot a series or a TV movie; it’s not by choice, it’s simply how things have been… I’m a mom, I can’t live off 4-5 days of filming per year and wait for the phone to ring… People may not realize this, but making a living as an artist isn’t easy for everyone… that said, I’ve been incredibly privileged for many years and I’m not closing the door; I just wanted a new challenge and to pursue something that genuinely excites me, and since I felt it was the right timing for me I took the plunge,” she shares.

Let’s not forget that the actress, known for her work on Ramdam, has recently returned to school at 41 to study early childhood education.

This career pivot has sparked plenty of questions from her followers.
“I’m not yet sure where this path will lead me; I’ll begin my first internship at a childcare center and see what happens next. The educational environment also interests me because of the irregular hours, and it would allow me to continue making time for content creation. Truly something to follow,” she says in response to a user asking if she’s considering working in a daycare setting.

“AEC = Attestation d’études collégiales. I had taken a few evening courses in college at the time, but that’s about it. At 17, I was shooting 70 Ramdam episodes a year; there aren’t prerequisites for an AEC,” she adds, referencing another question on the topic.

“I still find it tough. I’m a single mom, so I don’t get many breaks… my days are full. With reading and homework, going back to school at 41 isn’t the same as it was at 18. But I love it and I’m proud; it’s a wonderful example for my daughter too,” she confides, explaining what returning to school means to her as a single mother.

We wish Mirianne every opportunity to thrive both personally and professionally, and we commend her courage and determination.
