For one evening, doctors, researchers, pharmaceutical companies, and institutions listen to citizens and patients and answer questions that normally lie outside clinics and scientific conferences.
The Event
On Monday, October 19, in Milan, at 55 Via Piero della Francesca, AFI, the Association of Pharmaceutical Industry Scientific Society, promotes the sixth edition of the gathering titled “Health in the First Person.” The initiative flips the usual relationship between professionals and the public.
Through brief, interactive talks, experts and patient associations recount the journey of a drug: from research to safety, up to access to therapies.
At the heart of the meeting are the questions of those who experience care or pursue it: how is a drug born? Who monitors its safety? How does one gain access to the most innovative therapies? For institutions and companies, it’s a chance to shed light and dispel misinformation; for citizens, to obtain answers that support informed, conscious use.
