Louis Morissette: She’s Not Always Nice

Christophe Dupéré recently stopped by the podcast Entre la poire et le fromage, hosted by Louis Morissette and Maxime Talbot. During a segment devoted to his experience on Celebrity Big Brother, whose current season is airing, the former contestant opened up about several aspects of the journey, notably the conflicts that can flare up inside the house.

That doesn’t concern me.

The comedian noted that the production was caring and that the contestants were genuinely well supported within the adventure. He also shared that he sees his psychologist every Tuesday via video call.

He also revealed the existence of a room viewers don’t see on screen, called the private lounge. Each night, the contestants go there in turn to speak with one of the three “celebrities’ directors,” to vent and avoid keeping things too personal to themselves, a practice that evidently does him a lot of good.

A Conflict in the House with a Certain Player

The guest was then asked whether people intervene at times to settle disputes inside the house, to which Christophe replied in the affirmative.

“You know, at one point I had something against someone inside, and I talked about it,” he explains, prompting the hosts to react, curious to know who he meant.

“Not really, let’s say there were clashes now and then with some people, and you just say it,” Christophe stumbles, as Louis presses to find out who he’s talking about.

“It’s everyone I like (…) me and Marie-Ève, there were clashes at some point,” Christophe finally drops.

“Yeah, but her,” begins Louis.

“We talked about it,” adds Christophe.

“She isn’t always friendly, there… No, but in the edit, I’ll tell you, she isn’t always friendly in the edit,” asserts Louis, clearly trying to press further.

“I don’t know if it’s the editing that makes her look bad, but,” adds Morissette, very slyly.

“Louis… C*lice,” bursts out Christophe with a forced laugh.

“Still, she’s an excellent player; she has the archetype of a Big Brother strategist (…) but you know, to go that far and create, you know, in the game, you have to get your hands dirty; you have no choice, you’ve got to have blood on your hands. Marie-Ève did it from the start; she wants to control what she can control, but that, you know, doesn’t speak to me. Even with the game, I understand it; I have boundaries, I set them. She goes at it as she pleases. We spoke before I left, and it ended really well. I like her a lot, and I wish her nothing but the best,” Christophe concludes to wrap up the topic.

Félix and Marie-Ève Push the Envelope… A Lot?

Earlier in the segment, Louis also wanted to know whether, during the game or while watching episodes, his guest had grown frustrated with certain players.

“I’m not angry with anyone on a personal level, but I find that Félix and Marie-Ève, there, they push it in a big way, and when I was there, I’m not saying I was the reason for that, but Félix and I were very close, and there are a few things, my little Félix, that would make me tell him: Ok, my man, ease up a notch,” Dupéré reveals.

That was a particularly revealing segment, shedding light on the behind-the-scenes of reality television and reminding us how living together — with gameplay, strategy, alliances, and scheming — is never easy.

Do you see it the same way as Louis?
