This new artistic proposition reads as a true breath of freedom. Revisiting the classic I Love Rock’n’Roll, made famous by Joan Jett and her band Joan Jett & the Blackhearts, the singer explores a tougher, more energetic facet of her personality.
The Clairon: Where It All Began
Behind this musical pivot lies a deeply personal story. Long before fame, there was The Clairon, a Normandin bar where Guylaine Tanguay worked in her youth. It was on that small, welcoming stage that she discovered the pleasure of interpreting a repertoire different from country, alongside passing bands.
This venue, vibrant and unpretentious, marked her beginnings by letting her reveal a more instinctive energy, far from country codes. Today, she reconnects with that free and inclusive spirit, aiming to recreate that closeness with audiences in a series of performances inspired by those memorable evenings.

A Tour Reflecting Her Memories
This project will come to life on stage as the artist heads out to meet her audience in an intimate setting, faithful to The Clairon’s spirit. Accompanied by her musicians, she promises evenings with no artifice, where the music becomes a pretext to gather, share, and revisit shared memories.
“Music often holds surprises for us. For the sheer pleasure of it, one night I felt like returning to 80s music… and I realized I wasn’t the only one who loves diving back into those memories. So I wanted to create something that resembles me, but above all that brings us together. An intimate tour where we gather in a shared, free atmosphere, with no barriers or judgment—just for the joy of unwinding and reclaiming a part of our youth. I told myself: ‘The perfect place to experience all of that is to go back to The Clairon,’” the singer shared via a press release.

A Multitalented Artist
In parallel with her music career, Guylaine Tanguay has also made a name for herself as a television host, notably on Radio-Canada and ICI ARTV with Tout simplement country. She has also served as a contributor on the Sucré salé show on TVA.
Always guided by a strong creative freedom, she continues to evolve artistically by exploring new avenues that allow her to reinvent herself. At the same time, she remains deeply committed to her community and dedicates time to causes close to her heart, notably by actively supporting the Quebec Cancer Foundation, for which she has served as a volunteer spokesperson for several years.
Congratulations to her on these new accomplishments!
