The Polène family is growing again. After winning over fashionistas with its iconic Cyme, Numéro Dix, Béri, and Tonca, the Paris-based house unveils a brand-new creation designed for summer: the Solé Nomade. An airy piece that gracefully revisits the traditional net bag, while highlighting innovation, craftsmanship, and upcycling.
A bag that transforms leather scraps into an exceptional object
Inspired by the word “sun,” this new model was imagined as an ideal travel companion for the season. More spacious than the Solé bag launched in 2024, the Solé Nomade charms with its light, relaxed silhouette, perfect for seaside getaways as well as urban days. Worn over the shoulder, it instantly adds a bohemian-chic touch to any outfit.
With this launch, Polène also advances its creative approach around the Plèi collection, which highlights leather scraps from its production. To craft the organic beads that compose the Solé Nomade, artisans collect leather scraps, sort them by color, and grind them into a fine powder. This material is then combined with a bio-based polymer, before being molded and heated to yield delicate beads with irregular shapes.
The result is spectacular: each bag is made up of 382 upcycled leather beads, meticulously assembled by hand on nearly 70 meters of waxed cord. In total, no fewer than 320 macramé knots are required to craft the soft, undulating mesh that defines the model’s identity.
Artisanal know-how at the heart of the project
As is often the case with Polène, artisanal craftsmanship takes center stage. The leather strap is entirely braided by hand and echoes the bag’s signature knotting patterns. Inside, an elegant leather pouch with a magnetic closure helps secure personal belongings while preserving the model’s light aesthetic.
Available in Porcelain, Tan, and Ebony tones, the Solé Nomade plays with the contrasts between the leather beads and the diagonal macramé weave, creating a visually refined effect.

A summer collection that also highlights raffia
This season, Polène also celebrates natural materials with its new Raphia Edition. Several of the brand’s iconic models are reinvented in this plant fiber worked by hand in Madagascar, the cradle of an ancestral know-how around raffia.
The Cyme, the Cyme Mini, and Numéro Dix thus adopt fresh summer finishes through various crochet techniques. Two new colors also arrive: Laurel, a deep green inspired by Madagascar’s vegetation, and Ebony, a particularly elegant dark brown. On each piece, leather and raffia are connected by hand-embroidered details, once again illustrating the brand’s attention to detail that has driven its success.
