Investigation Into AI Use in Medicine Begins

Artificial Intelligence (AI) is now a reality that directly touches the health sector. From early diagnosis to organizing hospital workflows, up to decision-support in outpatient settings, AI applications are transforming the way medical care is delivered. But how is this revolution perceived by Italian professionals? And to what extent are new technologies already used in everyday practice?

To answer these questions, a large nationwide survey on the use of Artificial Intelligence by Italian physicians is launching, promoted as part of the project Influences — The Ethics of Contagion promoted by Honboard and FattoreMamma, conducted by Doxa with the support of Tecniche Nuove, AboutPharma, Medicitalia, Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore in Milan.

The initiative has a clear objective: to collect and elevate the direct perspective of physicians through an anonymous questionnaire that takes only a few minutes to complete. Each professional’s participation is essential: everyone’s input will help deliver a realistic and up-to-date snapshot of the relationship between medicine and artificial intelligence, fueling a thoughtful and future-oriented debate.

The results of the research will be publicly presented at the event “Influences – The Ethics of Contagion”, scheduled for October 31, 2025 at the Catholic University of the Sacred Heart in Milan. The gathering will be free and open to the public, with the aim of creating a forum for dialogue among all stakeholders: clinicians, communicators, companies, and patients.
